A Letter To President Obama PDF Print E-mail

Dear Mr. Obama,

I wrote a letter to you regarding your foreign policy with Iranian regime in July of 2008.  Mr. Obama, first allow me to point out that on 9/11 the Iranian people were the only nationality who risked their lives when they went into the streets of Tehran and expressed their sympathy and condolence for America’s lost. However, as we saw on television, most of the Middle-East had citizens celebrating the tragic event by singing and dancing on streets within their cities.

The people of the world witnessed how the terrorist regime of Iran butchered ancient people in cold blood within the streets of Tehran and other cities in the uprising for Democracy by Iranian people on June 12, 2009.  There was evidence that men and women of all ages suffered torture, rape, as well as death by the government’s butchers in jails including hidden prisons. You have seen all these cruelties. Mr. Obama, you speak to the people about American value. You, yourself, have two beautiful little girls and understand the love of a father. You were the last leader of the free nations that did not immediately demonize this blood shed by what is essentially a terrorist regime that operates under a Theocracy. When you decided to publicly make a statement not condoning the actions of the regime it was too late. Just imagine how the parents of those kids felt when they witnessed their children butchered in cold blood by their own government.  This was a great opportunity missed to make real changes within Iran and its Theocracy.

You desire to have a diplomatic negotiation for peace and stop enreaching uranium with a regime whose existence relies on fear, intolerance, violence, and distraction.  Mr. Obama, respectfully, you are wasting time.  I know the Mullahs because I grew up among them. They, like Russian government, are great liars, smart cheaters, and Oscar caliber actors. They consider it their duty to cheat and lie. Do not expect legitimate good personal relations with the Mullahs to produce  better state relations. There can be no illusion more dangerous then the belief that a charismatic American President can just charm his counterpart into desisting aggressive policies around the world. The Mullahs are very expert and experienced at playing to this American blind spot, as they have doing it for three decades.  The Mullahs are masters at the skill of bluffing. A skilled and experienced player, in poker, is able to gather information from the past in order to get a feel for the opponent and read/call his future bluff. The Russian are bluffers as well, but not in the same vain as the Mullahs and must be deal with differently.  In order to get optimal results, we must talk to the Soviets softly and act strongly. The strategy differs with the Mullahs where we should talk strong and act tough.  Mr.Obama, I believe your approach with the Mullahs will not be a winning one. They will simply do what they do best and lie as they try to buy more time in order to reach their goals. If they are allowed to succeed imagine what a regime, who brutally murdered its own people, would do to their enemy. Mr. Obama, I’m sure you heard what the Libyan leader had to say about you in United Nations.  He said that you are his son and you should be president of the United States for life.  He also said that while you are good, nothing will change in stone because after four or eight years a new President with a new foreign policy will come and we will restart the cycle. This is something that every single leader, including those in unfriendly nations, knows.  They understand that inevitably he or she will deal with different President with a different foreign policy and agenda. Don’t you think that some will take advantage of your soft policy, which you have labeled diplomacy; that they will not abuse your diplomacy in their revenge obsessed minds while they can when they know that in a few years they may have to deal with someone like former President Reagan?

Let us assume you are right and they stop reaching uranium. Who will pay for the blood of brave young American military forces who lost their lives, as well as future soldiers who will lose their lives in the best interest of their country? There is evidence that some were killed by supporters of the Iranian regime in situations involving Iranian weapons being shipped to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other Middle-Eastern areas where they believe Muslim fanatics can be influenced.  I promise that there be no resolution for these conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan unless this terrorist regime dissolves/changes.   If this happens there is a good chance the problems with the Hezbollah and Hamaas will slowly disappear as the Iranian regime is surely the head of the snake.

Additionally, the terrorist regime of Iran is killing Iranian people in cold blood in their own country because they rise for Democracy. You are ignoring this crime in an attempt to negotiate with the most dangerous terrorists in the history of the mankind. It seems ironic that you stand in front of members of the UN and speak of the human rights.  This government was not even elected by the people of Iran. Everyone saw how many young people died because they believed the government had cheated the election and was no longer representative of the Iranian people.  Yet you want to negotiate with the illegal cheaters who continuously make fun of American politicians and companies like G.E. Mr. Obama, there is a wall around Iran. This wall’s foundation has been built by distraction and corruption. If you are not able to break this wall down, let the Iranian people do it by showing support. Do not make the error of attempting to deal with this terrorist regime. If you can choose not to help us, at least do not hurt us by negotiating with a terrorist regime which has ignored human right since its birth.

Mr. Obama, you cannot have good relationship with a country if you do not have a good relationship with its citizens. Iranian people come from an ancient civilized culture with a rich history. Human Rights was originally a concept introduced to the world by Cyrus the Great 2700 years ago. If you desire to have good relationship with the Iranian people, show that you care about them and support Human Rights, . At worst, allow them to overthrow this corrupt regime by themselves. Allow the Iranian people to choose their own leader in a fair election and form the government by free referendum under observation of United Nations. Support the Iranian people by giving them the right to choose their form of government.  The majority wish for a government which builds its foundation with the theory of Democracy and a belief in Human Rights. This kind of system would allow no religion to interfere with the rights of people or their daily lives.

Sincerely,

Mozy Jahanguiri
